According to the Brain Preference Indicator Test we took, my Brain Preference Indicator (BPI) is 5.23 which means that I should be using both halves of my brain together quite easily.
Although people have been saying that there is no such thing as left-brained or right brained, it is still a fun to take this quiz to know which side I am leaning to. Considering that my score is 5.23, it should mean that I only lean to the right just a little bit (almost negligible) but generally I have what some would call a middle-brain preference
I think having a middle-brain preference has it perks and perils. It sounds as if one has the best of both worlds when you are middle-brained. For the most part it is true. Being middle-brained for me is like being a jack of all trades. You can view the situation in different lights. But this also can prove problematic at times. Since we could do most tasks in right-brain or left-brain method, we tend to argue with ourselves endlessly both sides of the coin, or at least that's the case for me.
It is generally hard to pick just one side because our brains are programmed to be at ease with both. It's akin to having two children. We find it hard to play favorites. This results to indecisiveness sometimes but actually it's just confusion.
Taking this test and seeing the result, I find out why I am inclined to widely varying interests that should have clashed in terms of brain processing. Reconsidering it, I am now very thankful that I am middle-brained.
I think this is also the reason why I have a hard time arguing with people. It's because I also see their point's validity but it's really hard to make them see mine because our brains don't work the same way. Yes, it is still a little problematic but I am already used to it.
